Lake Forest Home Burgled While Family Home

Burglary

Officers responded to a single family home in the 1100 south block of Buena Road. Between 1:10 AM and 1:45 AM on June 18, unknown subject(s) entered the victim’s unlocked garage, opened the unlocked car inside and stole a large green woman’s purse and contents. At 1:45 AM,the victim saw a dark, midsized four door sedan parked at the foot ofthe driveway. The vehicle immediately left the area and the victim discovered the theft.

Driving under the influence

Police responded to a cell phone complaint of a possible impaired driver driving south onGreen Bay Road in a Ford pickup. An officer located the vehicle, driven by Jose Garcia, 48, of Highwood, and followed it for some time. He observed the vehicle stopping in the road without cause, driving for an extended time with a turn signal on, weaving in its lane, and swerving into some parking spots when it turned onto Illinois Road. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with Garcia. Garcia admitted to drinking six beers and exhibited a strong odor of alcohol. He failed three field sobriety tests and a portable breath test. He was taken into custody and later produced a breath sample indicating ablood alcohol content of.189.Garcia was processed and released on bond with a July court date.

Obstructing justice

On April 4, 2013,  Zoila M. Solis‐Reyes, 27, of Waukegan, had been stopped by Lake Forest Police for a minor traffic violation and had given the officer a false name at that time. The officer subsequently discovered Solis‐Reyes’real identity and thatshe was wanted on a warrant by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for one or more immigration violations. Lake Forest Police also obtained a warrant for Solis‐Reyesfor obstructing justice in late April.On June 18, 2013 at 3:00 PM Solis‐Reyes was arrested on the warrant for obstructing justice. She was processed and transported to Lake County Jailfor a bond hearing.
