Man Charged with Spending $6,000 on Stolen Credit Cards

BATTERY

Christopher A. Bernardi, 27, of 130 E. Niles Ave., Lake Forest, was charged with domestic batter and interference with the reporting of domestic violence at 4:01 p.m. Sept. 28 on the 100 block of East Niles Avenue. Police said he pushed someone down the stairs and grabbed the phone out of the person’s hand when police were called. His court date is Oct. 11 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.

William F. Shriver, 41, of 690 Chandler, Gurnee, was arrested on warrants for identity theft, unlawful use of credit card and unlawful possession of a credit card, all felony charges, on Sept. 30. The charges stemmed from a Sept. 11 report that a wallet was stolen from the Knollwood Club’s men’s locker room. Police said two credit cards from the wallet were later used to buy more than $6,000 in merchandise at stores in Lake Bluff and Vernon Hills. Police said security videos showed Shriver using the cards, and that he admitted to police he had done so. His court date was Oct. 7 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.
