Homeowner Tricked In Burglary
A male around 35 approached a woman in the 600 block of N. Dee Road as the she was taking out the garbage. The person told the her that he were related to neighbors and would be cleaning outside around the house. The individual led the victim into her house and told the victim he wanted to show her through her windows where he would be cleaning.
The man gave the victim a phone number and left. The phone number was fake and the victim later noticed that jewelry was missing. The man was described as being about 35, hispanic, 5 feet seven inches tall, about 200 pounds, with a goatee and wearing sunglasses, a hat and a leather jacket.
A home in the 700 block of S. Fairview Ave. was burglarized sometime between 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 17. Someone damaged a window on a door to gain entry to the home. Taken was a laptop computer, camera and various jewelry.
A home in the 1700 block of S. Washington Ave. was burglarized sometime between Saturday, Dec. 8 and Tuesday, Dec. 18. Someone forced open a door to the home and took a box of collectible toys.
A condo in the 600 block of W. Touhy Ave. was burglarized sometime between 10:50 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Dec. 18. A door was forced open, the condo was ransacked and a laptop computer and jewelry were taken.
A home in th 1600 block of Linden Ave. was burglarized sometime between 5:30 pm. and 9 p.m. Dec. 18. A door to the home was pried open and a laptop computer and various jewelry were taken.
The victim heard someone knocking on his window several times and went outside to see who was there. The victim lives in the first block of Granville Avenue. The victim was accosted by a white male between 20 and 30 years old, about six foot two inches tall and 225 pounds. The victim said the man began beating him.
The man was described as having a strong build, bushy eyebrows and wearing a black skull cap, and black jacket.
A 2012 Toyota Corolla was burglarized sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 14 in a parking lot in the 800 block of W. Higgins Road. Someone damaged the front passenger side of the vehicle and removed a computer bag containing a laptop computer.
A 2007 Cadillac CTS had its driver's side quarter panel and its driver's side mirror damaged in the 1000 block of S. Chester Street on Dec. 14.
A 2008 Ford Mustang had its driver's side door, passenger side door and rear quarter panel in the 400 block of Grand Blvd. scratched sometime between 7 p.m. Dec. 17 and 8 a.m. Dec. 18.
A 2011 Toyota Camry had its front grill and winshield damaged in the 100 block of Boardwalk Place sometime between 10:30 p.m. Dec. 19 and 10 a.m. Dec. 20.
Letters were spray painted on a garage of a home in the 300 block of Cuttriss Street sometime between 4 p.m. Dec. 14 and 10:15 a.m. Dec. 15.
