Person Struck, Killed by Freight Train in Lake Forest

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Thursday.

A person was struck and killed by a Canadian Pacific freight train just before 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lake Forest Metra station, according to NBC Chicago.

The victim’s name has not yet been released, the article says. Trains were stopped in both directions, but resumed running around 9:30 p.m.

The Lake County Coroner's Office initially said it will likely have the victim's identification to share this afternoon. Later in the day, it said that information would not come on Friday.
