Police Blotter: Man Cools off From Argument in Car Behind Business; Woman Cited for Dogs Running at Large

LAKE BLUFF

Theft

A stolen downspout was reported April 8 in the 400 block of Sunrise. The homeowner noticed the downspout missing April 4.

Suspicious Circumstance

Officer responded to the 200 block of East Scranton Avenue on April 7 to investigate an open living room window. The officer checked the outside of the residence and found no signs of forced entry. The window frame was dusted for fingerprints, which met with negative results. Homeowner said the cleaning lady may have left the window open. No items were missing from the house.

Turkey in the Roadway

Officer responded to Route 176 and Skokie Highway for a complaint of a turkey in the roadway creating a traffic jam on April 5. Turkey was gone when the officer arrived. A second report was made April 3 in the 400 block of Skokie Highway.

Carbon Monoxide Detector

An officer responded to the 100 block of Warrington Drive for an activated carbon monoxide detector on April 4. The Lake Bluff Fire Department responded and determined the detector was faulty.

Injured Raccoon

An officer responded to the intersection of Mawman Avenue and West Scranton Avenue for a report of a sick raccoon on April 4. The officer located the animal, which appeared to be recovering from an injury. The officer removed the animal to the public works building where the animal took off into the wooded area.

Suspicious Circumstance

While conducting a business check in the 900 block of Sherwood, an officer observed a vehicle parked behind a business on April 3. The officer shined his spot light on the vehicle and observed a white male sit up in the driver's seat. The man stated he and his wife had a verbal argument, he left to cool off and had fallen asleep in the parking lot. The officer issued the man a written warning for property trespassing. The man was asked to call his wife to get a ride home and the vehicle would be moved in the morning.

Intoxicated Person

Officers responded to the 50 block of Brierfield Court on April 2 for a report of a person passed out on the pathway. The officer located the person, who was conscious but had consumed a large amount of alcohol during the evening. The subject's parents were notified.

LAKE FOREST

Theft

A resident in the 100 block of Woodland Road reported the theft of construction equipment March 17 from a house under construction. Missing items included a fiberglass step ladder, an aluminum stretch plank and an air compressor. Total value approximately $1,300.

Minor Consumption of Alcohol, Tresspass Warning

Andrew Fernandez, 18, 208 N. Butrick, Waukegan, was found by security to be trespassing on Lake Forest College property in the 500 block of Sheridan Road on April 2. He is under the age of 21 and had consumed alcohol.

Dogs Running at Large

Donna L. Denten, 67, 405 Mayflower, Lake Forest, was charged with allowing her dogs to run at large on March 31. A Newfoundland and two St. Bernards aggressively approached a neighbor and security personnel two blocks from the dog's home. The dog owner has received multiple violations in the past. She was assigned to an administrative hearing at 9 a.m. May 11 at Lake Forest City Hall.
