Police Blotter: Three Stopped for DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lake Forest Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

DUI 

 Joel Kulla of Mundelein was arrested July 20 for driving under the influence in the vicinity of Westleigh and Red Fox Roads, according to . 

Police stopped Kulla for speeding and he showed signs of alcoholic consumption. He refused field sobriety tests and was unwilling to give a breath sample. He was released on $100 bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. August 14 in Waukegan.

DUI (Drugs), Possession of Cannabis 

Steven Wilson, 18, of Lake Forest was arrested July 27 for driving under the influence and unlawful possession of cannabis, according to Bannockburn Police reports.

Police observed Wilson operating a motor vehicle southbound on Telegraph Road approaching Wilmot Road, according to the report. After seeing Wilson cross the double yellow line four times police stopped him. 

After stopping Wilson, police detected a strong odor of cannabis and found a substance resembling marijuana in the car after Wilson indicated where it was, according to the Report. Wilson provided a DUI kit and was released on his own recognizance. He will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. August 22 in Waukegan. 

DUI (Drugs and/or alcohol), Possession of Cannabis 

Eric Perkin, 33, of Chicago was arrested July 17 for driving under the influence for a combination of drugs and alcohol, possession of cannabis and not having a valid driver’s license, according to Lake Forest Police reports. 

Police stopped Perkin near the intersection of Highway 41 and Old Elm Road for a traffic violation and discovered he was in possession of not more than 2.5 grams of a substance containing cannabis, had no driver’s license and had no insurance. He submitted to blood and urine tests. He was released on $300 bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. August 14 in Waukegan.
