Police Blotter: Two Charged for Hosting Party Where 22 Cited for Underage Drinking

Casey Flynn, 22, and Justin Smith, 21, both of Lake Forest were arrested Sept. 1 for hosting a party where 22 persons were charged with underage drinking, according to .

Police said they received a noise complaint in the 80 block of North Washington Street where they discovered Flynn and Smith hosting a party where 22 persons under 21 were drinking. All 22 were charged as well, according to the report. Flynn, Smith and the underage drinkers will appear for an administrative hearing at 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at Lake Forest City Hall.

DUI

David Wawrzniak, 26, of Highwood was arrested Aug. 25 for driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance, according to a Lake Forest Police reports.

Wawrzniak was driving northbound on Highway 41 when he hit a vehicle from the rear which was stopped at a red light, according to the report. He failed field sobriety tests and refused a breath test. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Oct. 9 in Waukegan..

"Social hosting" sounds like a web-based drinking party! :>)
Seriously, they need to be held accountable just like any other adult (read: parent hosting underage drinkers). In our country, the drinking age is 21.

For those of us that live in that area ( by the college) . This has become a nightmare!!!! The parties at that house go on all night long and the students that leave at 2 am have started to vandalize homes in that area, from stealing to destroying property. It has become so bad that even during the days our smaller children are afraid to play outside. I understand that this is were we made a choice to live, by a college, but this has come to a point that they have no respect for anyone else. Not only should they be accountable for hosting , but these young men are football players they should be suspended from the team!!!!! The college police should control this and they do nothing but drive around all night. If you are affected by these out of control kids, passing out on your lawn beer cans everywhere, property destroyed , the noise, the yelling all night, driving after parting all night, maybe we should attend the hearing. FYI another student in the same area was arrested this weekend for trying to enter a families home on washington, breaking the screen door then leaving and trying to enter another families home next door to the same home this party was at. again this is out of control and the college should do something NOW!!
