Police Blotter: Woman Charged With Retail Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Deerfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Linda Baenen, 52, of Lake Forest, was arrested last week for retail theft at Whole Foods in Deerfield, according to Deerfield reports.

According to the report, loss prevention personnel at Whole Foods spotted Baenen and an elderly male putting items in a shopping cart and then sitting down in the café area. She then left the store, came back and left again with the man and the food. She did not pay, according to the loss prevention person from the store.

After Baenen told police the man was supposed to pay, police checked records to learn a similar complaint was filed against her at Wal-Mart in Vernon Hills, according to the report. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in Park City.
