Poor Driving Leads to DUI, Warrant Arrest

The driver was arrested for DUI and driving with a revoked license, and the passenger was picked up on a warrant.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

At 3 a.m. July 10, an officer stopped a car driven by Tyrone A. Springs, 46, of the 200 block of South Park Avenue, after seeing it drift over the highway lane markings several times at Route 41 and Deerpath. The officer said Springs smelled of alcohol, admitted to drinking and that an open bottle of alcohol was found in the car. He failed his field sobriety tests.

He was charged with DUI-alcohol, driving with a revoked license, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on $3,000 bond with an Aug. 1 court date.

Harlin M. Barnes, 33, of the 2900 block of 31st St. in Zion, was a passenger in the car. He was taken into custody when he was found to be wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court on a charge of driving with a revoked license. He was transported to Lake County Jail.
