Slow-Driving Suspicious Vehicle is Just Newspaper Delivery Jeep

Officers also handled a fork in the road. A pitchfork, that is.

The following information is from the Lake Bluff Police Department. 

Goose in the road

An officer responded to the area of East Center Avenue and East Scranton Avenue for a report of a goose in the road at 7 p.m. May 25. The animal was gone when the officer arrived.

A bike valued at $100 was stolen from the back of a building in the 900 block of North Shore Drive.

Suspicious person

Officers responded to a complaint that a silver Jeep had been driving slowly around a residential area in the 700 block of Mawman Avenue at 5 a.m. May 28 . The vehicle was found to be from a newspaper delivery service.

DUI

A driver was arrested for DUI at 12:15 a.m. May 29 at Route 176 and Shagabark Road.

Officers responded to the 300 block of West Washington Avenue for a report of a female who was driving while intoxicated at 5 p.m. May 30. Officer located the driver and arrested her for DUI.

Car fire

An officer saw a red vehicle with smoke coming from inside at 4 p.m. May 30. The fire department was called and extinguished the fire, which had started in an ash tray in the center console. The officer left a message for the vehicle’s owner to call the police department and an officer later explained what had happened.

Trespassing

Officers responded to Lillian Dells at 11:30 p.m. May 30 for a call about trespassers. Police found three people there and reminded them of the access hours.

A fork in the road

Officers responded to Route 41 north of the EJ&E railroad bridge for a report of a pitchfork in the roadway. The officer found it in two pieces and disposed of it.
