Students Charged with Drinking at Lake Forest High School

ALCOHOL

Three 16-year-old girls and a 16-year-old boy were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at Lake Forest High School after police said staff members found them drinking inside the school. There were given administrative hearings.

Jasmine R. Jones, 19, of 1902 Dawn Lane, Zion, was charged with battery at 3:27 p.m. Aug. 29 on Route 41 at Deerpath after police responded to a report of a crash that had led to a physical altercation. Police said Jones struck the other driver and tore his shirt. Her court date is Oct. 1 at Lake County’s Park City courthouse.

Juan A. Zelaya, 23, of 2000 Williamsburg, Waukegan, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a valid license at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 28 at Route 41 at Route 176 after officers responded to a report of a man smoking marijuana while driving. Police located cannabis in his car. Zelaya was also and arrested on a DuPage County warrant for failure to appear in court on an unrelated charge. His court date is Oct. 1 at Lake County’s Park City courthouse.

A 16-year-old Lake Bluff girl was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of curfew at 12:05 a.m. Aug. 29 on Westleigh at Red Fox. She was the passenger in a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Lake Forest boy who was cited for speeding, curfew violation and driving outside the permitted times. Their court dates are Oct. 1 at Lake County’s Park City courthouse.

A 17-year-old Lake Bluff boy was charged with possession of cannabis at 3 p.m. Aug. 28 at Lake Forest High School after school personnel found marijuana in a vehicle in the school’s parking lot. His court date is Oct. 2 at Lake County’s Park City courthouse.

Stephanie M. Rodriguez, 20, of 2426 Corona Road, Waukegan, and William A. Rivera, 21, of 127 N. Victory, Waukegan, were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis at 9:38 p.m. Aug. 31 on Westleigh at Valley after police stopped Rodriguez for speeding. Police said they found in the car cannabis packaged for sale in individual bags, a digital scale and a supply of Alprazolam tablets for which neither person had a prescription. Their court dates are Sept. 23 at Lake County’s Waukegan courthouse.
