Suspicious Item Causes Alarm at Lake Bluff School

ANIMALS

Officers responded to a report of a stray dog at 10:49 a.m. Sept. 29 on the bike path at East Sheridan Place at East Sheridan Place. Officers located the dog on the train tracks and caught it. Police learned the dog had been reported missing on Sept. 27. The owner was notified to pick up the dog and was given a verbal warning for letting a dog at large.

An officer responded to a report from a babysitter who was locked out of a home with the baby inside at 2:20 p.m. Sept. 25 on the 700 block of Birch Road. Officers found an open screened window and the babysitter was able to gain access through it.

An officer responded to a report that a vehicle rolled out of a driveway and into the road at 10:42 a.m. Oct. 9 on the 100 block of Center Avenue. The officer notified the owner, who moved the vehicle back into the driveway.

Police received two complaints the evening of Sept. 29 of loud music being played by a band outdoors on the 300 block of East Prospect Avenue. The homeowner told police she was having a party and that she would turn down the music. When police received a second complaint about an hour later, the resident agreed to turn off the music and quiet the party down.

Officers responded at 11:34 p.m. Sept. 27 to a report of a fight in a parking lot on the 100 block of East Washington. Multiple people in the lot told police they were there to visit a relative who had returned home from prison. An officer identified the person who had returned home and one of the visitors was reported in the police state database due to his gang member status. The people were told to keep the noise to a minimum and to move inside.

LOST PROPERTY 

A citizen reported the morning of Oct. 9 that their wallet was missing. It was last seen Oct. 8.

Officers responded at 9:29 a.m. Oct. 4 to Lake Bluff Elementary School after someone found what appeared to be a gun holster. Police determined the item was part of a child safety seat.
