Teen Found With Loaded Gun in Car

An unruly man was also arrested at Lake Forest Hospital for yelling at employees.

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

An officer stopped the car driven by Omar Molina, 33, of the 1700 block of North Albany in Chicago, because the plates didn’t match the vehicle. The officer learned that Molina was driving without a license and found a pipe for smoking cannabis in the car. Molina was charged with improper use of registration, no valid license and possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident happened at 5:30 p.m. May 29 at Route 41 and Deerpath. Molina was released on $1,500 bond with a June 17 court date.

Warrant arrest

An officer found Michele E. Rodriguez, 42, of the 1300 block of East Ports of Call Drive in Palatine, driving a disabled car on Route 60 at Field Drive at 5:30 a.m. May 28. She was taken into custody when police learned she was driving with a suspended license. She was also wanted on warrants from Cook and DuPage counties for prior traffic arrests for which she failed to appear in court. She was given a June 17 court date.

Obstructing a peace officer

Police responded to the 300 block of West Deerpath at 2 a.m. May 27 for a report of mailboxes knocked down. An officer saw Dilan S. Austwick, 21, of the 1400 block of Fairway Drive in Lake Forest, who immediately ran away from police and jumped a fence, dropping his cell phone. He was later taken into custody and charged with obstructing a peace officer. He was given $120 bond and a July 1 court date.

Disorderly conduct at the hospital

Police responded to the emergency room at Lake Forest Hospital at 11 p.m. May 26 for a report of a man screaming at employees in the lobby. Officers saw Surgene J. Cabell, 42, of the 700 block of Sumac Avenue in Waukegan, yelling loudly and unreasonably at workers. He was charged with disorderly conduct as well as possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a glass pipe for smoking cocaine on him. He was released on $120 bond and given a June 17 court date.

Unlawful use of a weapon

An officer stopped a vehicle for improper lane usage and a registration violation on Route 41 and Westleigh Road at 1 a.m. May 17. A loaded handgun and open alcohol were found in the car. A 17-year-old boy from Waukegan was taken into custody for unlawful use of a weapon, illegal transportation of alcohol and consumption of alcohol by a minor and was referred to juvenile court. Two underage passengers in the car were cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor, and a 21-year-old was cited for illegal transportation of alcohol.
