Thieves Take iPhone From Local Merchant
The following arrest information was supplied by the Lake Bluff Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Theft
An iPhone valued at $699 was taken April 12 from a Verizon Wireless store on Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff, according to Lake Bluff Police reports.
Police received a call from the store that a theft was in progress, according to the report. People in the store saw two men in their 20’s enter the store, take the phone and leave, driving away in a while Dodge Avenger. The investigation continues.

Jorge Zavala, 44, of Waukegan was arrested Thursday for illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without a valid license and driving without insurance, according to Lake Bluff Police reports.

Police initially stopped Zavala in the vicinity of Sheridan Road and Scranton Avenue for driving with an expired registration, discovered an open bottle of alcohol and that he did not have a valid driver’s license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. May 7 in Park City.
Gustavo Magana-Meza, 52, of Waukegan was arrested April 13 for driving with a revoked license and speeding, according to Lake Bluff Police reports.
Magana-Meza was clocked driving 51 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone near the intersection of Sheridan Road and East Sheridan Place, according to the report. After making the stop, police learned his license was revoked. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. June 4 in Park City.
