Three Young Men Charged with Drug Offenses

Three young men charged with drug offenses

Police stopped a car driven by Andrew M. Nepstad, 23, of Wadsworth, for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone and weaving over lane markings Feb. 28 at 4 a.m. at Route 41 and Route 176. He was taken into custody for DUI for alcohol and drugs. Police discovered 40 ecstasy tablets and he was also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Joseph L. Wilder, 22, of Zion, had 19 ecstasy tablets in his possession and was charged with the same two offenses, police said. Justin J. Dupree, 22, of Beach Park, was found with marijuana and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

Dupree was released with a March 18 court date. Nepstad and Wilder were held overnight before being taken to Lake County jail for a bond hearing. Both received $50,000 bond. Nepstad’s court date is March 19 and Wilder’s is April 7.

Driving on a revoked license

Mark J. Priester, 36, of Cary, was stopped for a traffic violation March 5 at 9:20 a.m. at Route 43 and Westmoreland. Police discovered that he was driving on a revoked license and he was charged with that as a felony. He was taken to Lake County jail for a bond hearing.

Argument leads to DUI arrest

Police received a call at 10:15 p.m. Feb. 28 about a possibly impaired driver who had left the scene of a verbal dispute in a parking lot near the 400 block of Illinois Road. An officer located Jeffrey J. Casey, 57, of Lake Bluff, who police said admitted to drinking and failed field sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI, released on $3,000 bond and given a March 25 court date.
