Tip Leads to DUI Arrest

Also underage drinking and possession of cannabis. Information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest does not indicate guilt.

DUI

An officer responded to a cell phone complaint a little before 9 p.m. on Aug. 11 of a possible impaired driver on Route 41. The officer located the vehicle, driven by Humberto Noriega, 42, of Chicago, at Route 41 and Old Elm Road. The vehicle was weaving between both lanes, according to the report. Noriega was stopped and admitted to drinking, police said, and open alcohol was found in his car. He failed field sobriety testing and was taken into custody. He was later charged with felony DUI and driving while having a revoked license due to previous DUI convictions, police said. He was held overnight and taken to Lake County Jail for a bond hearing the next day. Bond was set at $50,000.

Police responded to a traffic crash on Route 41 at Westleigh Road at about 9:45 a.m. Aug. 14 and determined that Christine M Devora, 30, of Highland Park, rear-ended another vehicle. The officer smelled burnt cannabis in Devora’s vehicle, according to the report, and located cannabis and a smoking pipe. She was cited and released on $120 bond and given an October court date.

Burglary

An unoccupied home for sale in the 1200 South block of Telegraph Road was burglarized between 2 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 13. Unknown offender(s)forced entry through a rear door and removed copper piping from the basement of the home valued at $1,000. Anyone with information should contact Det. Underage Drinking

An officer spoke with a 19-year-old woman from Buffalo Grove at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 14 after observing her fall while walking near Sheridan at Ringwood. She appeared to be intoxicated and admitted to drinking, according to the report. She was turned over to a parent and cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor and given an administrative hearing.
