Warning Siren Issued Inadvertently In Lake Forest

Tornado warning siren went off instead of text message.

While testing the emergency warning sirens for the City of Lake Forest at 10 a.m. Tuesday, a tornado warning message siren was issued instead of the usual test message.

At 10:35 a.m., the Police Department issued a Code Red message to residents stating that the warning siren message was an error.

The Lake Forest Police Department apologized for the confusion and any inconveniences that the original message caused through a press release issued by the city.
