Woman Charged with Using Counterfeit Credit Card in Lake Forest

ALCOHOL/ACCIDENT

Eric J. Henry, 32, of W277S8870 Hilltop Lane, Mukwonago, Wis., was charged by Lake Forest police with leaving the scene of a property damage accident at 12:55 a.m. Nov. 23 after police received reports of a hit-and-run crash on Route 41 at Route 60. Henry was stopped a short time later by Gurnee police, who charged him with aggravated driving under the influence, Lake Forest police said. His court date is Dec. 17. 

IDENTITY THEFT

Tannecha C. Freeman, 30, of 26 Oxford Drive, Carpentersville, was charged with identity theft, money laundering and possession of a counterfeit credit card, all felonies, at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 20 on the 200 block of East Deerpath. Police said Freeman made purchases, included several gift cards, at the Lake Forest Walgreens on May 28 using a counterfeit credit card that had been recoded with the credit card number of a Michigan resident. Freeman was identified in security video and in photographic lineups by store employees. Lake Forest police obtained a warrant for her arrest on Oct. 21 and arrested her on Nov. 20. She was released on a $25,000 bond and given a Dec. 18 court date.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident of the 300 block of South Butler reported a large chunk of asphalt was thrown through their garage window around 6:40 p.m. Nov. 17. The victim reported that an unknown person knocked on the front door just prior to the damage. Anyone with information is asked to email Officer Dominick Bellino at BellinoD@cityoflakeforest.com.

THEFT

A contractor working on the 900 block of Westmoreland reported tools valued at $4,500 were stolen from his unlocked van while he was working inside Lake Forest Hospital between 12:15-2:45 p.m. Nov. 19. Anyone with information is asked to email Det. Kevin Zelk at ZelkK@cityoflakeforest.com.

Someone cut a hole in the side of a maintenance garage between Nov. 23-24 at the Knollwood Golf Club and stole a backpack leaf blower valued at $500 and a weed trimmer valued at $400.

ORDER OF PROTECTION VIOLATION

Lewis L. Bond, 43, of 1190 Terrace Court, Glencoe, was charged with violating an order of protection and driving on a revoked license at 11:39 p.m. Nov. 17 on the 1100 block of North McKinley after police responded to a call from a resident who had the order of protection reporting that Bond was in her backyard. Police found Bond about two blocks away as he was leaving his a car. Police said Bond told them he had “lots of women in this area” and had not been in the caller’s backyard. His court date is Nov. 26.
