Woman Leaves Car in Middle of Road, Charged with DUI: Police

A Deerfield man was also charged with domestic battery.

The following is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

An officer saw Elizabeth B. Blodgett, 41, of the 600 block of Greenview Place in Lake Forest, driving on Granby Road at 3:40 a.m. June 12. The officer saw her stop her car in the middle of the road, get out and walk away, police said. When she returned, the officer spoke with her. She admitted to drinking and failed a field sobriety test. She was taken into custody for DUI and released on $3,000 bond with a July 25 court date.

Domestic battery

Police responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of East Illinois Road at 6:45 p.m. June 8 for a report of a battery that had just occurred there. Officers spoke with Matthew P. Jones, 52, of the 1700 block of Hickory Knoll in Deerfield, as well as with several witnesses and the victim. After investigating, Jones was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery for striking the victim in the face with his fist. He was held overnight before being transported to a bond hearing, where bond was set at $10,000. He has a July 21 court date.
