Domestic battery
Police responded to a parking lot in the 100 block of East Illinois Road at 6:45 p.m. June 8 for a report of a battery that had just occurred there. Officers spoke with Matthew P. Jones, 52, of the 1700 block of Hickory Knoll in Deerfield, as well as with several witnesses and the victim. After investigating, Jones was taken into custody and charged with domestic battery for striking the victim in the face with his fist. He was held overnight before being transported to a bond hearing, where bond was set at $10,000. He has a July 21 court date.
