City Outlines Flooding Response

In anticipation of the forecasted heavy rainfall, The City of Lake Forest is prepared to implement the Rainfall Emergency Plan.

In anticipation of the forecasted heavy rainfall, The City of Lake Forest is prepared to implement the Rainfall Emergency Plan, which is designed to respond to and minimize the damage resulting from excessive or intensive amounts of rain.

In the event that flooding occurs, City crews will respond to reported flooding issues based on the following priorities:

1.    Basement flooding

2.    Street/intersection flooding

3.    Yard flooding

To report basement and street flooding during regular business hours, please contact the Water & Sewer Utilities office at 847-810-3571.  To report basement and street flooding after hours, call the Public Safety Non-Emergency telephone number at 847-234-2601.

As the ground becomes saturated with rain water, yard flooding can be expected.  City crews will investigate all basement and street flooding reports before responding to yard flooding complaints.  Residents interested in discussing potential drainage issues can contact the Engineering Section at 847-810-3556 to schedule an appointment.
