The building is Arcady Farm, which was located on the northwest corner of Waukegan Road and Kennedy Road, was built for the Arthur Meeker Sr. and Grace Murray Meeker by architect Arthur Heun in 1907.

Landscape architect Jens Jensen designed the grounds. Arthur Meeker Sr. was an executive at Armour & Co. His son, Arthur Jr., became a novelist and journalist. The home was demolished in 1975.
