Lake Bluff Park District Seeking $3.1M Referendum in November

The money would reopen the Aquatic Facilities Tot Pool, as well as provide for other repairs across the park system.

Lake Bluff voters will be asked in November to support a $3.1 million referendum for the Lake Bluff Park District.

The district announced its plans Wednesday, and set up a website detailing where the money would go. It also created the video above. According to the website, the money would go to:

Sunrise Park and Beach: $150,000
Improve, not replace, the steep steps and update the restrooms

Aquatic Facility: $1,500,000
Repair and reopen the Tot Pool. Repair main pool liner, deck, leak and refurbish shade structures. Update, not replace, the restrooms

Artesian Park: $437,690
Repair the walking paths, cracks in the tennis courts, replace playground equipment, sealcoat parking lot, replace field house roof

Blair Park: $175,000
Repair walking paths and playground equipment

Knollwood Park System: $55,250
Repair worn walking paths and playground equipment

Recreation Center: $810,000
Replace the aging roof and HVAC

This is the first referendum the district has put forth since 2010, when voters shot down a $10.7 million request for a new aquatic center. If the current referendum is passed, the owner of a home valued at $450,000 would pay an extra $70 in annual taxes, according to an article in the Lake Forester.
