Lake Bluff's Tentative Budget Nearly 8 Percent Lower than 2012

An anticipated reduction in sales tax revenue means a smaller 2013-14 budget for the Village of Lake Bluff.

The Village of Lake Bluff is expected to take a final vote on its budget for 2013-14 at the March 25 meeting. The tentative budget received preliminary approval at a public hearing on Monday, according to the village.

The proposed $12.9 million budget is 7.7 percent lower than last year's budget of $13.8 million due to declining sales tax revenue, which is expected to fall 11 percent, and fewer grant opportunities, reported the Chicago Tribune.
