Lake County Forest Preserve Names Committee Appointments

Each will serve two-year terms.

The Lake County Forest Preserve Board of Commissioners newly elected President Ann Maine named her committee appointments at a special meeting Tuesday. All will serve two-year terms that end December 2012.

Linda Pedersen was appointed chair of the Finance and Administrative Committee, with Pat Carey as vice chair. Committee members are Anne Flanigan Bassi, Aaron Lawlor, Audrey Nixon, Diana OKelly, and David Stolman.

Stevenson Mountsier was appointed chair of the Land Preservation and Acquisition Committee, with Carol Calabresa as vice chair. Committee members are Melinda Bush, Bonnie Thomson Carter, OKelly, Linda Pedersen, and Terry Wilke.

Thomson Carter was appointed chair of the Planning and Restoration Committee, with Lawlor as vice chair. Committee members are Calabresa, Carey, Bill Durkin, Michelle Feldman, and Craig Taylor.

Taylor was appointed chair of the Education, Cultural Resources and Public Affairs Committee, with Mary Ross Cunningham as vice chair. Committee members are Steve Carlson, Susan Loving Gravenhorst, Diane Hewitt, Audrey Nixon, and Suzi Schmidt.

Angelo Kyle was appointed as chair of the Legislative Committee, with Maine as vice chair. Committee members include Carlson, Mary Ross Cunningham, Feldman, Brent Paxton, and Schmidt.

Carlson was appointed as chair of the Rules Committee, with  Cunningham, as vice chair. Committee members include Flanigan Bassi, Bush, Thomson Carter, Loving Gravenhorst, Kyle, Mountsier, and Pedersen.

Members of the Diversity and Cultural Awareness Committee include Cunningham, Kyle and Audrey H. Nixon.

The Greenbelt Cultural Center Expansion Committee will continue its work with Kyle as chair, Calabresa as vice chair, and Carlson, Cunningham, Mountsier, and Nixon as members.

A new special committee, the Ethics Committee will be chaired by Lawlor, with Bush, Maine, Nixon, and OKelly as members.

Other key appointments include Bassi as treasurer and Calabresa as assistant treasurer.
 
The liaisons to the Friends of Ryerson Woods are Maine and Lawlor. Other liaisons include Carlson to the Friends of the Lake County Discovery Museum and Flanigan Bassi to the Youth Conservation Corps.

Appointments also include Kyle as the board representative to the Illinois Association of Conservation and Forest Preserve Districts, and Taylor as the board representative to the Illinois Association of Park Districts.
