Lake Forest Receives Award for Financial Reporting

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to The City of Lake Forest by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).  The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The Government Finance Officers Association is a non-profit, professional association with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C., serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals.  The GFOA states that the award “represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”

The award was presented to Diane M. Hall, Assistant Finance Director of The City of Lake Forest.  The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial picture.  The CAFR is posted on the City’s website, www.cityoflakeforest.com
