Lake Forest to Move Forward with Affordable Housing

The proposed project would include affordable housing units, as well as retail and commercial spaces.

The Lake Forest City Plan Commission met recently to begin to develop a wish list for the 10-acre property on Laurel Ave., according to an article by the Chicago Tribune. The officials reiterated their desire to see a project that would bring more affordable housing to the community. The design include four stories mix-used dwellings, which would include housing units, as well as retail and commercial spaces.

The parameters were approved unanimously by the Planning Commission, and the City Council will decide — with guidance by the planning commission — what should be built and who should build it, the Tribune article states.
