National Democrats Shine Spotlight on 10th

DCCC reserves $3.1 million in air time in three Chicago area districts for fall campaign.

The national spotlight on the race for the 10th Congressional District seat between and became more intense today with the reservation of $3.1 million of television commercial time by Democrats.

With three contests in the Chicago area targeted by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) as part of its Red to Blue program, the organization charged with electing Democrats to the House of Representatives reserved $3.1 million in commercial time after Labor Day.

Schneider, who is running against Dold in a , is a likely beneficiary of the reservation, according to a story today in Roll Call.

The other campaigns targeted in the Chicago area are Tammy Duckworth against Rep. Joe Walsh in the 8th District and former Rep. Bill Foster against Rep. Judy Biggert (R-Hinsdale) in the 12th.

Schneider had no comment about the reservation but Dold spokesperson John McGovern was not surprised. “This is a nationally-targeted race, and we fully expect both parties will be active here,” McGovern said. He expects the Dold campaign to have sufficient resources to compete.

In the past when the DCCC has had a number of targeted campaigns in one media market, it made reservations for each campaign, according to a spokesperson for the DCCC. These combo buys allow the organization to make strategic decisions closer to the election while giving the other side less information about strategy.

The $3.1-million purchase in Chicagoland is part of a $46.3-million effort in a number of Congressional districts across the country. The Democrats need a net gain of 25 seats to regain control of the lower chamber they lost two years ago.

What is radical are your lame attempt to place tax cuts into a quantified budget number, so your line of crap is just that. You say Obama had to spend, why? on what? Solyndra and 35 other bankrupt solar companies? As for the auto companies, the taxpayer is still on the hook for billions, and bankrupcy would have been the better option. As for Tarp, Bush signed the first one at the same table as Barack was sitting, with Obama nudging the pen, then Obama signed Tarp II. The wars? Voted on by the senate one was 100-0 the other 99-1. Same old radical slime attempt to distort the real facts, this time it won't work, too many folks are fed up.

To Dan Pritzker-This is what I would say to Walsh Detractors: "you have convinced me-I detest the Walsh performance-he has stopped, obstructed, contained, eliminated, stonewalled, buried, barred, vetoed anything and everything that would help me, and that which would help America. All good, smart and loyal Americans, such as yourself, want higher and higher taxes, a collapsing government, wealthy politicians and their huge pensions, no freedom, our money to Solyndras and payoffs to their officers-even if we don't have enough to live on-it's a blessing to have the opportunity to sacrifice for our gods and give them money for trips with ob. And that document, that Constitution thing-it's so old-it's about freedom-that's sooooo yesterday. I love your side, now. What's not to like-other countries only have one or two people who seem unhappy, maybe a little annoyed. Why? Why are these few unhappy? Worried? Greece and Ireland and Spain and Italy-what are these people complaining about-you have it right. Keep up the good work. And please vote for ob again so we can continue this amazing progress made in less than 4 years-we are almost at nirvana, if you understand the world is upside down."
