Lake Forest Post Office, Shields Township still offer service.

received notice from the Passport Services Section of the U. S. Department of State that its status has been re-categorized and it is no longer able to offer passport processing services, according to a press release from the city Thursday.

Because services at City Hall include vital records (birth and death certificates), Lake Forest is considered to be a “dual function facility”. For public safety reasons, the federal government has enforced a physical separation of functions and a complete separation.
