Congressional Candidate of Long Grove, one of four contenders in the March 20 Democratic primary, has voted only twice since 2000 according to an article in today’s Daily Herald.
According to the article, Tree voted in the 2008 and 2010 general elections. He did not vote in primary or municipal elections in the past because he wanted to maintain non partisanship as a colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve.
“I have not voted in local non-partisan elections before for the same reasons regarding the military culture, even though at a very local level, I understand the races are not partisan,” Tree said to Patch today.
