Receiving Christmas

I find myself doing a lot of thinking, working, planning and doing to give gifts. I don't think I am a very good gift giver but I try. I hope I am a better gift receiver. So often in this season of giving, we may forget that the primary message of Christmas for us as humankind, God's children, is to receive God's gift of Jesus Christ. I hope with this Christmas there will be enough room in my heart and life to receive the joy, hope, peace and love of Christ. I will pray on this today as I anticipate Christmas Eve at my church, Grace United Methodist Church. We will be "Celebrating our Savior," at GRACE, 5 pm and 8 pm with candlelighting at both service, tonight, Tuesday, Dec. 24. The 5 pm service will feature a special story for children and the 8 pm service will include our Chancel Choir with brass and soloists (you might want to come early for special prelude music). Hope to see you this evening for Christmas Eve.
