Scouts’ Star Performers: Ian Mankoff shot a 76 to finish third individually.

Other Notable Scout Performances: The remaining top five scores came from Drew Takacs, Nick Steffens and Joe Willis — each with 78s - Matt Garrity added a 79.

Who’s Next: The Scouts will face Mundelein again in the Regional on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at Steeple Chase Golf Club, the home course for Mundelein. Thde rest of the field incliudes: Grant, Grayslake North, Warren, Lake Zurich, Libertyville, Carmel, Waukegan and Zion-Benton.

The Bottom Line: Less than ideal condition on Friday - wind and rain - but Mundelein made sure its fifth scorer made the difference.

 

GIRLS' GOLF

Date: Sept. 30 - North Suburban Conference Meet

The Final Score: 1. Stevenson 366; 2. Libertyville 367; 373; 4. Mundelein 382; 5. Warren 383; 6. Vernon Hills 397; 7. Lake Zurich 446.

Scouts’ Star Performers: Becca Scriber shot an 85 to finish second individually.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Paige Skinner managed a 92 to finish ninth.

Who’s Next: The Scouts host the Regional on Wednesday (Oct. 5) at the Lake Bluff Golf Course. The rest of the field includes: Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Warren, Highland Park, Libertyville, Stevenson, Vernon Hills, Waukegan, Wheeling, and Zion-Benton.

The Bottom Line: The meet began Tuesday, but rains stopped it and forced continuation on Friday even though some of the players had completed as many as seven holes. Stevenson captured its sixth straight NSC title.

 

GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

Date: Sept. 30

The Final Score: Lake Forest defeated New Trier, 25-18 and 26-24

Scouts’ Star Performers: Tori Lanzillotti notched 11 kills, four aces, six digs and two blocks.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Mary Striedl had 10 kills while Heidi Sierks recorded 28 assists and three digs.

Who’s Next: The Scouts entertain Loyola Academy at 6 p.m. Monday (Oct. 3).

The Bottom Line: The Scouts ran their record to 15-3 for the season with the victory over perennial power New Trier. Striedl and Lanzillotti provided the final two points to ice the win.

 

FIELD HOCKEY

Date: Sept. 29

The Final Score: Lake Forest 4, Glenbard West (Overtime)

Scouts’ Star Performers: Kelsey Adams scored a goal and an assist. Goals were added by Morgan Dever, Margot Meyer and Katie Sullivan.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Halle Frain and Jessica Staton added assists.

Who’s Next:   The Scouts entertain Elgin Academy at 4:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 3) on the Front Lawn.

The Bottom Line: Glenbard West tied the game with no time remaining on a penalty shot. Sullivan and Adams provided the goals in overtime to secure the victory. The Scouts are 16-2-2 for the season.
