Boys’ Golf, Soccer Secure Wins; All-County Honors In Cross Country

Scouts’ Star Performers: shot a one under par 35 in the nine-hole match to lead all golfers. Sophomore Drew Takacs carded a 34, but his score did not count since he was not listed as one of the six players whose scores would be tabulated into the total.
Other Notable Scout Performances: , Charley Marshall, Matt Garrity, Mac Mardjetko and Chad Williams all fired 37 to add to the Lake Forest domination.

Who’s Next: Part of the Scout varsity will host the Lake Forest Quad Saturday while the rest of the team heads to the Buffalo Grove Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Bottom Line: The Scouts are so deep that three of their six one-over par 37’s were not needed in the team total.

Scouts’ Star Performer: scored a pair of first half goals to help his team establish control.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Goaliemade eight saves while Peter Passolino added a goal on a header with an assist from Michael Shipp.
Who’s Next: Lake Forest entertains Glenbrook North at 6 p.m. Sept. 10.
The Bottom Line: Forlow took charge early for the Scouts with his initial goal and intercepted a pass a few minutes later to notch his second solo score. The Scouts improved their record to 3-2-0.

Scouts’ Star Performer: finished sixth out of 145 runners in 16:25.72 to lead Lake Forest and gain all-County honors.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Chris Charhut placed 22nd in 17:12.66 while Sean Jones was 37th with a time of 17:51.41.
Who’s Next: Lake Forest takes part in the St. Charles Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 3).
The Bottom Line: With the overall times very close among all runners, the Scouts have the opportunity to improve in large meets as the season progresses.

Scouts’ Star Performer: cracked the top 10 with a sixth-place time of 20:16, while teammate Lisa Bennatan took ninth in 20:29. Both earned all-County honors.
Other Notable Scout Performances: Julie Kitzerow and Ellen Revenaugh claimed 29th and 30th, respectively, in 21:44.69 and 21:46.84. Erin Malles rounded out the top five in 40th in 22:11.24, while Hannah Mowry was right behind her in 41st in 22:11.44.
Who’s Next: Lake Forest takes part in the St. Charles Invitational at 9 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 3).
The Bottom Line: The defending North Suburban Conference champs got an early glimpse of their competition, which appears to be Libertyville.
