Lake Forest Boys’ Golf, Soccer, Field Hockey and Tennis Teams Keep Winning

Mundelein edges girls' golf squad.

BOYS' GOLF

Date: Sept. 13

Scouts’ Star Performers: and both shot an even par 36 to lead the Scouts.

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to Vernon Hills for a 4 p.m. dual meet today (Sept. 14). 

The Bottom Line: Lake Forest continues to dominate the competition with its depth using an assortment of players assaulting par on a regular basis. 

 

BOYS' SOCCER

Date: Sept. 12

The Final Score: Lake Forest 1, Mundelein 0 

Scouts’ Star Performers: Goalie made eight saves to notch his first shutout of the season.

Other Notable Scout Performances: scored the game’s lone goal on a penalty kick to give Lake Forest the margin of victory. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to Zion-Benton at 6:15 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 15). 

The Bottom Line: When Peter Passolino was fouled inside the box, Forlow was chosen to take the penalty kick. The Scouts are 5-2-0 for the season and 1-0 in North Suburban Conference Lakes play. 


 

GIRLS' TENNIS

Date: Sept. 8

The Final Score: Lake Forest 7, Mundelein 0 

Scouts’ Star Performers: All four Lake Forest doubles teams took straight set victories, losing only three games between them. won at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0, took the No. 2 match, 6-1, 6-1, were the No. 3 winners, 6-0, 6-1 while earned No. 4 honors, 6-0, 6-0.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Elizabeth Zordani (No. 1) and Megan Morris (No. 2) needed three sets to put away their Mustang opponents. Lucy Lincoln won her No. 3 singles match, 6-2, 6-0. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to Zion Benton for a dual meet at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 15).

The Bottom Line: The Scouts improved their overall dual meet record—including round robin invitationals — to 8-1. Lake Forest has won 38 of the matches played in those contests while dropping only five. 

 

GIRLS' GOLF 

Date: Sept. 8

The Final Score: Mundelein 168, Lake Forest 171 

Scouts’ Star Performers: continued to lead her team by firing a 39.

Other Notable Scout Performances: Caroline Dolan and Corinne Donohue each shot 43 to help keep Lake Forest close. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to Libertyville for a 4 p.m. dual meet today (Sept. 14). 

The Bottom Line: The Scouts lost their first dual meet of the season. They are 5-1 for the year.

 

FIELD HOCKEY

Date: Sept. 12

The Final Score: Lake Forest 1, Lake Forest Academy 0 (2OT)

Scouts’ Star Performers: Jessica Staton scored off of a feed from .

Other Notable Scout Performances: Lina Trucco collected her fifth shutout of the season behind the defense of Katie Skinner, Laura Beshilas, Laruren Yarkony, Katie Sullivan and Abby Sirus. 

Who’s Next: The Scouts travel to Winnetka for a 4:30 p.m. match against New Trier today (Sept. 14). 

The Bottom Line: Today's match will be a good barometer for Lake Forest.
