Cherokee School Fourth Graders Designate Charities for Fund-raisers

Help kids with brain tumors, cancer.

Cherokee School fourth grade students have chosen to support Benny's World as part of its service-learning organization's yearly initiative.

ECHO will donate proceeds from activities to Benny's World, a foundation to help kids with brain tumors.

  • A community-wide Lemonade Stand and Bake Sale will be held May 21.
  • The fourth graders will collect craft supplies, coloring books, and games for Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois.
  • In school, students will be hold "Dollar Days" that will allow the rest of Cherokee to get involved in ECHO. The first Dollar Day will be April 15, and students who donate a dollar will be allowed to have crazy hair or wear a hat for the school day. Money raised from the Dollar Days will go to buy "There's a Monkey in My Chair" kits for children with cancer and their classmates.
