College Grads: Lake Forest, Lake Bluff

Colby College graduates included Laura M. Burns of Lake Forest and Christopher J. Fraser of Danbury, the son of Harvey and Carol Fraser of Lake Forest. Burns majored in global studies and economics and is a graduate of Fraser majored in philosophy and is a graduate of Colby College is located in in Waterville, Maine.

Jonathan Foss of Lake Forest graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. He majored in economics.

Lake Forest High School graduates Jacob Fisher and Susannah Dee have graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wis. Fisher earned a bachelor of music degree in bassoon performance. Dee earned a bachelor of arts degree in classics.

Five Lake Forest students have graduated from Dennison University in Granville, Ohio. They include: Andrew Craig Carpenter, who was awarded a bachelor's degree with a major in economics and a minor in psychology. A consistent dean's list student, he was a recipient of the Park National Bank Economics Scholarship and the Denison Alumni Award; David Jeffery Holmes, who earned a bachelor's degree with a major in economics. He was a dean's list student and was awarded an Alumni Award Scholarship; Katherine Marie Hudson, who received a bachelor's degree with a double major in psychology and communication. She was awarded an Alumni Award Scholarship and studied off-campus for a semester with the College of Global Studies Program in Italy; Courtney Anne Kirsch, who was awarded a bachelor's degree with a major in English and a concentration in literature. She studied off-campus with Arcadia University's College of Global Studies Program in France, and Mark Kenneth Magnus, who earned a bachelor's degree with a major in biology and a minor in chemistry. A consistent dean's list student, he is a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the national premedical honorary and Sigma Xi, the national scientific research society. Magnus received the Denison Alumni Award, the Biology Department Award for Academic Excellence, the Biology Department Research Award, the Benjamin A. Mollet Memorial Scholarship and the Margaret Watkin Scholarship. He was active with the Biological Society, Denison Independent Theatre Association, Relay for Life and Jam Band. Magnus is a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

Kerrianne Key of Lake Forest has graduated from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Ind., with a bachelor's degree in English Literature.

Two Lake Forest students have graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. They include: Brooke Harwood, who received an Artium Baccalarius degree in Near Eastern Studies and in government, and Aleka Scoco, who was awarded an Artium Baccalarius degree in biological sciences and Spanish.

Becker Wyckoff of Lake Forest received a Doctor of Law from the School of Law of Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.
