Miami of Ohio University students who achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for second semester 2011-2012 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic performance.

They include from Lake Bluff: Nikolaus Thomas Ebert, Emma Ann Gustafson and Caroline Crotty Rogers. From Lake Forest: Nicole Marie Antonucci, Matthew Moher Durot, Kimberly Hall Glennon, Henry Albert Gloor, Connor Thomas Greenlees, Dana Lynn Hartnett, Erica Emmanuella Kallergis, Claire Hannah Saltzman, Sarah Elise Sofyanos, and Jeffery Oliver Row Zureikat.

Jeffrey R. Wasson of Lake Forest has been named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List. This selection marks outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2011 semester. To be eligible for second honors, students must have a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.79, of a maximum of 4.3.

Claire Saltzman, a interior design major from Lake Forest, is the recipient of a Spring 2012 Undergraduate Research Award from Miami of Ohio University. The award provides support for student research and creative projects. Saltzman will work with John Humphries, professor of architecture and interior design on the project Gang-land Gree: ecological design principles in Chicagoland after architect Jeannie Gang. The Undergraduate Research Award program is sponsored by Miami's office for the advancement of research and scholarship. It provides support for student research and creative projects, and provides experience in developing grant applications. Typical awards range from $150 to $500, but individual or group projects of exceptional merit may be funded up to $1,000.

Caton Brewster and Morgan Luttig, both of Lake Forest, have earned honor roll status for the recently ended fall term at Washington and Lee University. Both are members of the class of 2014. Honor roll status represents a term grade-average of at least 3.75 on a 4.0 scale.

Margaret Lyndsey Freeman of Lake Bluff and Miriam Frances Wheatley of Lake Forest have been named to the president's list recognizing academic excellence at Miami of Ohio University. Both students achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for first semester 2011-12.

Connor Thomas Greenlees, of Lake Forest, was among 894 students from Miami of Ohio University who received degrees during fall commencement exercises Dec. 16. Greenlees received a bachelor's degree in engineering.

The following students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.: Catherine Elizabeth Athenson, Sarah Elizabeth Wagener and Adam Brown Strobel of Lake Forest and Samantha Helen Schulte of Lake Bluff.

Loyola Marymount University has announced the students named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester. Among them are Christine Swinson of Lake Bluff and Alexander Zielinski of Lake Forest. Students named to the Dean's list have completed 15 semester hours at LMU and earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.

Nicole Lauren Arfsten, of Lake Forest, has received a bachelor's degree in general studies/communication studies at the University of Kansas. Graduate and undergraduate degrees are conferred in December based on work completed during the fall semester.
