The Lake Forest High School District 115 Board of Education is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Sorensen. Mrs. Sorensen will fill the position vacated by Monty Edson. Mr. Edson faithfully served the school community since 2011.

Mrs. Sorensen has served on LFHS District 115 Financial/Operations Committee 2013-current; LFHS District 115 Education Committee 2010-2013; Chair, Board of Trustees, Union Church of Lake Bluff 2010-current; Charmm'd committees involved in community strength and capacity building (co-chaired Ethical Leadership Book Group; Bridges 2011-2013); 2010-2012 Board, Lake County Cares, strategic plan liaison; 2004-2011 President, Board of Alliance For Excellence Education Foundation (District 65) and numerous additional committees/liaison positions.

Mrs. Sorensen comments, "Over the years I have been a passionate proponent of deep, solid education for our children. I have sought volunteer roles that would offer that support while raising children within the school districts. Over the last decade, I have worked to find common ground, promote the best in ourselves and what we offer one another, with the interests of our (collective) children in mind."

She continues, "My service on the Finance and /Operations and Education Committees at the high school have given me a deeper perspective and vision into the oversight of a school district. I have actively sought knowledge, as a community member, parent and taxpayer. I do feel it is my responsibility to contribute to our public schools' functioning in as concrete and positive a manner as I am able, and serving on the Board is the fulfillment of that desire. I look forward to serving in this role."

Board of Education President Todd Burgener states, "We are fortunate to have an abundance of willing and able community members who raise their hands when called upon to serve.  This has proven true again with our recent call for applicants to fill the board vacancy that resulted from the resignation of Monty Edson.
