Eighth Graders Conduct Recycling Drive April 21
Sheridan families can participate in ACES Walk in May.
The eighth grade graduating class at will conduct a Recycle Electronics Drive ofrom 8:30 a.m. to noon April 21. Items can be dropped off at the back of Deer Path Middle School, located at 95 W. Deerpath in Lake Forest (take Hastings Road to the back of the school). Your technology recyclables will raise money for the DPM class of 2012 community gift for the new sports complex at Lake Forest High School. All electronics will be recycled by Universal Recycling Technologies, LLC (URT), a national electronic and universal waste recycling organization, headquartered in Janesville, Wis.

The District 67 Board of Education Meeting will be held at 7 p.m. April 24 in the Board Room of Lake Forest High School's West Campus, 300 S. Waukegan Road. Check the district website for additional information, http://www.lf67.org

Sheridan School families are invited to participate in the ACES (All Children Exercising Simultaneously) Walk from 10-10:30 a.m. May 2 at the school. The purpose of ACES is to call attention to the importance of youth fitness in a fun, noncompetitive atmosphere. Students from every state will be participating in a similar event. Sheridan families will meet outside the school on the sidewalk at 9:55 a.m.

Debbie Dadey, award winning author of The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids, The Swamp Monster in Third Grade, The Keyholders and the Ghostville Elementary series is coming to the elementary schools as part of the APT Visiting Author program. She will visit Everett School on April 30, Cherokee on May 1 and Sheridan on May 2.
