District Slates Special Education Meeting for Parents

Launches new Dashboard on website.

 

The Lake Bluff School District has launched its new District 65 Dashboard. The Dashboard contains a set of navigation “apps” that organize district information into a series of easy-to-read charts, tables, and graphs. Information is presented visually, and will be updated and added to on a regular basis. Visit the Dashboard by going to the District website or by using the direct link at www.lb65.org/dashboard.

Parents of Kindergarten through fourth graders are invited to a coffee and brief overview of District 65's and 67's special education departments at 9 a.m. Jan. 20 in Seminar B at the Lake Forest Administrative Center (LFHS West Campus, 330 S. Waukegan Road). Parents will and learn more about how the districts evaluate and assess whether there is a need for intervention. Featured speakers will include administrators from Districts 65, 67 and 115. Also available for questions will be a school psychologist and social worker, as well as a reading specialist. The meeting is in partnership with the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Learning Disabilities Association.

The District 65 Board of Education will hold its next regular meeting at 6:45 p.m. Jan. 24 at Lake Bluff Village Hall. The open session is televised live within the Village limits on Comcast cable channel 19. Videos of regular meetings are available within 10 business days of the actual meeting on the School Board page of the District website (www.lb65.org/board).

A half day of school is scheduled for Jan. 25 due to a staff development workshop. Lake Bluff Elementary School will dismiss students at 11:05 a.m. and Lake Bluff Middle School will dismiss students at 11:30 a.m.

The Lake Bluff Elementary School Choir Concert will take place Jan. 30 in the school gym. The school band starts at 6 p.m. followed by the choir at 7 p.m.
