East Lake Academy Enjoys Record Attendance at Annual Fund-raiser

The ninth annual event celebrates growth of Catholic education in Lake County.

With more than 170 guests in attendance, in Lake Forest enjoyed its biggest turnout ever for its annual benefit and auction April 2 at Lake Forest’s Armour House.

The ninth annual event titled, “Faith, Family, and Friends...Growing Together”, celebrated the growth of Catholic education in Lake County over the past 10 years.

From concert and sporting events, restaurant packages, and spa treatments to jewelry, family activities and custom East Lake items, the silent auction had something for everyone. One of the most popular items in the past, a student-created book, “Letters to God”, made an encore appearance in the live auction.  East Lake Academy teachers also  donated their time in the silent auction for “Teacher Time” -a n opportunity for students to spend a few hours attending a cultural or sporting event with their favorite teacher this summer.

Co-chairs Lisa Wernli and Colleen Conarchy agreed the benefit was a success noting the live auction alone brought in a significant amount more of money than last year.

In its 10th year, East Lake Academy is a Roman Catholic school with more than 135 students enrolled.
