East Lake Academy Students Send Items With Couple Adopting Son From Haiti

students sprang into action by collecting toys, shoes and clothing when they heard that one of their own school families, the Lindemanns, would finally be bringing home their adopted son from Haiti.

The items were to be sent with the Lindemanns to the boy’s orphanage, or creche, in Haiti. A total of eight boxes weighing around 40 pounds each were delivered thanks to a donation from an airline.

Robert and Amy Lindemann of Green Oaks have spent the past two years waiting to adopt Marc, was living in the Creche de L’Enfant Jesus (an orphanage) in Haiti supported by A Child’s Hope Foundation.

The foundation, funded by donors and grants, operates a school for more than 500 children, a health clinic, an adoption program and creche, and a church in Haiti.  In late October, Mr. and Mrs. Lindemann got the word that the adoption process was almost complete, and they could make plans to pick up their son. 

Students also made a spiritual bouquet, or a group of prayers gathered together for a particular intention, for the children of Haiti.
