Deer Path Middle School's eighth grade graduation ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. June 2 at the Lake Forest High School West Campus, 300 S. Waukegan Road. This is a change due to the February snow days. For more information, check the DPM website and e-newsletters. Attire for this event is traditional; girls wear white or pastel dresses, boys wear sport coats or suits.

Deer Path Middle School's eighth grade dance, Big City Lights, will be held fr0m 7:30-10 p.m. May 27 in the Braves Gym. Invitations are expected to be mailed the week of April 25. In keeping with past year traditions, a parent reception will be offered prior to the dance from 7-7:30 p.m.  For additional information regarding the dance, including opportunities to volunteer for the decorating committee or to chaperone the event, check the DPM website, eighth grade graduation website, or the school's e-newsletters.

The 8th Grade DVD/Memory book committee is comprised of students and parents who collaborate to create both a DVD and a photo album/scrapbook to help parents and their students capture their memories of DPM and their eighth grade year. To create these keepsakes, the committee needs you and your students to submit photos and videos. Submit your photos/videos to the following e-mail: memorybook11@gmail.com by April 29. Only committee members with a passcode will be able to view the submittals. The photos/videos will be erased post-production. The eighth grade DVD will feature candid photos of the eighth graders having good times with their friends at various events, sports, lunchroom, homeroom and other school activities that have occurred throughout their last year at DPM. There will be video footage of the students in some special scenes as created and directed by the DVD/Memory Book student committee, including music selected by the DVD student committee. The cost is $25. The Memory Book will include a photo of each student and his or her memories as captured by your photos and created by the DVD/Memory Book student committee. The cost is $35.  The ordering deadline is April 29 for the video and Memory Book. Orders will be taken via the website at: http://dpm2011graduationactivities.weebly.com/memory-book-and-dvd.html

The eighth grade class photo will be taken the week of May 4 (rain date on May 6). The "Class of 2011" class photo will be taken by Fitzgerald Photography and photos will be available for purchase in your several sizes. A display of the various sizes available for ordering will be posted for viewing in the DPM-West office beginning in April. Deadline for orders is no later than May 4. Turn in order envelopes with payment to homerooms.

  • May 27, eighth grade graduation dance.
  • May 31, eighth grade awards assembly.
  • June 1, eight grade Beach Day; grades 5/6 awards assembly, and seventh grade awards assembly.
  • June 2, graduation rehearsal (9 a.m.), and graduation ceremony (5 p.m.).
  • June 3, grades 5/6 Field Day, and seventh grade Beach Day.
  • June 6, last day of school/report cards distributed.
