"At Whose Cost? Our Children" Panel Discussion

The League of Women Voters - Lake Forest/Lake Bluff and Mothers Trust Foundation are co-sponsors of this event. Three speakers will discuss how the fiscal problems in Illinois are affecting our children and our future. They will address the ongoing tax issues and both the short and long term consequences.

The speakers are Ralph Martire, Kathy Ryg and Kristi Long. 

Ralph Martire is the Executive Director of the bipartisan Center for Tax and Budget Accountability frequent lecturer and teacher at Illinois State University and Benedictive University.

Kathy Ryg is President of the Voices for Illinois Children and has worked to improve early learning opportunities for young children. She was also the State Representative for the 59th District, which included Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, from 2003 - 2009.

Kristi Long is the President of the United Way of Lake County. The United Way works with over 50 agencies to prepare children for the changing world.
