Cooking Workshop at Sunset Foods

September 15: Challah and Jam.  Learn how to make the classic Challah braid. While it bakes, learn how to use a bread machine to prepare egg dough and a food processor to make another batch of dough. Take home these loaves to bake for dinner Friday night. Participants will also make Easy Refrigerator Strawberry Jam and Fig & Honey Spread to accompany the bread.

September 16: Breakfast for Dinner. Make a few hearty breakfast dishes like Homemade Honey-Almond Granola, Tomato Parmesan Tart, Braised Sausage with Balsamic Glazed Onions & Grapes, Skillet Eggs with Summer Squash and Chocolate French Toast.

September 17: Rosh Hashanah Refresher. Learn how to put a modern twist on a traditional holiday with heart-healthy Mock Chopped Liver, Braised Chicken with Pomegranates, Kreplach and more with Chef Ruth Ross.

September 22: How to Use a Food Processor. Learn about all the helpful functions of these machines. Bring your own or use one at Sunset to make Vegetable Soup with Herbed Breadsticks, Hummus Crostini, Overnight Layered Party Salad and Lemon Pound Cake.
