LEAD's Middle School Series 2011 for parents of children in grades 5 - 8 consists of three free, interactive workshops.
On Monday, January 12, facilitators Jean Odwazny and Todd Nahigian will lead a discussion on the topic "Checking in with Your Adolescent Before He or She Checks Out." Parents will learn how to stay connected and help their adolescents make smart choices. This session will be held at the Gorton Community Center.
On Monday, January 24, facilitator Debbie Gross will lead the discussion on "End the Race: Reducing Anxiety & Stress for Your Child and Family." Parents will learn skills to avoid and deal with the pressures adolescents are facing in today's culture. This session will be held at the Gorton Community Center.

On Monday, February 14, facilitator Debbie Gross and a representative from the Lake County State's Attorney's Office will lead a discussion called "Nobody's Perfect: Bully Prevention". The legal penalties of bullying behavior and how it affects all adolescents will be discussed. Parents will be given information on how to bully-proof their adolescents. This session will be held at the Lake Forest Country Day School.
