Sundays at 1: Dialogues in Democracy

Jan. 16  The Supreme Court and the Future of U.S. Democracy --  Geoffrey Stone, University of Chicago professor of law and editor of Supreme Court Review, will speak on the Court's Citizens United decision.

Feb. 13  State of the State in a Time of Crisis -- The presidents of three large not-for-profit organizations will discuss public policy during the economic crisis in Illinois.  John Bouman, Shriver Center on Poverty Law, Kristi Long, United Way of Lake County, and Kathy Ryg, Voices for Illinois Children will make up the panel.

Mar. 13  Cultural and Environmental Preservation in China's Yunnan Province -- Openlands President Gerald Aldelmann will discuss and show slides of his research in China.  As a participant in a joint American-Chinese inventory of the rich diversity of the rural Yunnan Province, he visited one of the world's most ecologically and ethnically diverse regions.
