Decades ago, people all across the nation talked of the power, prestige and controversies of the eccentric, fascinating Medills - and then settled down at the breakfast table to read the family's newspapers (including the Chicago Tribune, the New York Daily News, and the Washington Times-Herald).
Author Megan McKinney will talk about this first family of journalism and their connections to Lake Forest, and sign copies of her book, The Magnificent Medills. This unique event will be held in the former Lake Forest home of Eleanor "Cissy" Medill Patterson (Countess Gizycka), which was designed by Howard Van Doren Shaw in 1907.
