United Way Lake Effect Group Hosts Bestselling Author & Career Expert

February 14, 2012 (Gurnee, IL) –Lake Effect, the young professionals group of United Way of Lake County, is hosting author and career expert Alexandra Levit for a presentation entitled Biggest Myths of Business in 2012.  The event will be held at United Way of Lake County’s Conference Center in Gurnee on Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

This event will offer guidance on how to survive and thrive in a post-recessionary business climate that steers clear of controversy, office politics, and quick promotions and is returning to an emphasis on traditional workplace values like trust and direct communication.

Levit has authored several books, including the bestselling They Don't Teach Corporate in College, How'd You Score That Gig?, Success for Hire, MillennialTwee and New Job, New You.  In 2010, she was named Money Magazine's Online Career Expert of the Year and the author of one of Forbes' best websites for women.

Known as one of the premiere spokespeople of her generation, Levit regularly speaks at conferences, universities, and corporations around the world on issues facing modern employees such as how to communicate effectively between generations.
