Four Scout Teams Notch Victories This Week

Girls' volleyball stops Glenbrook South; girls' golfers edge Deerfield; boys' soccer blanks Lane Tech, and girls' tennis routs Whitney Young.

GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

Date: Aug. 31 

The Final Score: defeated Glenbrook South, 25-20, 26-24

Scouts’ Star Performer: dished out 21 assists, retrieved 6 digs and served a pair of aces.

Other Notable Scout Performance: spiked eight kills and grabbed six digs.

Who’s Next: Lake Forest travels to La Grange for the Lyons triangular at 5 p.m. Friday. 

The Bottom Line: The Scouts improved to 2-0 with their straight-set victory over the Titans.

 

GIRLS' GOLF

Date: Aug. 30 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 179, Deerfield 186 

Scouts’ Star Performer: led her team with a nine-hole score of 40.

Other Notable Scout Performances: fired a 43 for Lake Forest while Sarah Anderson added a 48. 

Who’s Next: Lake Forest travels to Lake Zurich for a 4 p.m. match today (Sept. 1). 

The Bottom Line: The Scouts improved their dual meet record to 2-0 with their win over the Warriors. 

 

BOYS' SOCCER

Date: Aug. 29 

The Final Score: Lake Forest 3, Lane Tech 0 

Scouts’ Star Performer: John Moderwell scored a goal and assisted on another to lead his team.

Other Notable Scout Performance: and Niko Svigos each scored a goal while Ian Forlow added an assist. 

Who’s Next: Lake Forest entertains Niles North at 6:15 p.m. today (Sept. 1). 

The Bottom Line: After taking a 1-0 first half lead, the defensive play of Karl Morocott kept Lane Tech off the scoreboard before the Lake Forest offense put the contest out of reach. The Scouts improved their record to 2-2-0. 

 

GIRLS' TENNIS

The Final Score:  Lake Forest 5, Whitney Young 0 

Scouts’ Star Performer: The entire team dominated Whitney Young, dropping only 14 games on the way to five straight set victories.

Who’s Next:  Lake Forest travels to Vernon Hills for a 4:30 p.m. meet Tuesday (Sept. 6). 

The Bottom Line:  took No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-1 victory while won her No. 2 singles match, 6-3, 7-5. In doubles, Megan Morris and Victoria Falk walked over their opponents, 6-1, 6-2, Erin Hart and Margaux Miller dubbed their foes 6-1, 6-0 and Haley Killam and Paige Douglass blanked their opponent, 6-0, 6-0.
