Lake Forest High School State Playoff Football Game

  • Where/When: Batavia High School, 1201 Main St., Batavia, 1 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 5).
  • Why Go?: In this Class 6A State second round playoff game, with the winner moving into the State quarterfinals. Gates open at noon.

The Brave Way will teach you how to defend yourself and keep yourself and your family safe in every situation with confidence, all in just 2 hours. The techniques are easy to learn and are very effective. The Brave Way is taught through a lecture, a demonstration and hands-on instruction.

  • Why Go?: Join WMXM radio for a night of the edgiest psych/punk rock sound that transforms the beautiful 1800s Gothic style chapel into a gritty night in Chicago’s underground. Mannequin Men is raved as the loudest, most reckless, and raw Windy City groups. They are supported by Rabble Rabble, a wild group from Chicago’s budding Logan Square who have had local music blogs ablaze with their psych-rock tones.

  • Why Go?: Support LEAD during its 25th anniversary year by registering to run in the fourth annual Red Ribbons Race. Proceeds benefit LEAD -- dedicated to promoting healthy family relationships and preventing alcohol, tobacco, drug use, and other risky behavior by youth.
